What is Individualized Coaching and how is it different from the team?

Individualized coaching is one-on-one coaching.  Coach:Athlete.  It is for athletes ready give their training focus and priority and earn that next level of performance.    Specific goals are decided between the coach and athlete and the training plans reflect this.  Training plans are designed 1 - 2 week(s) at a time to supports an athlete's 'life schedule' and race goals.  We are building a performance partnership > we communicate daily and athletes are required to complete daily training logs for feedback.

The difference between the team and the individualized coaching is the specificity of your training plan and the coach-athlete communication.   As part of the team, you receive a training plan that is appropriate to your ability level which prepares you for the race you want to do (assuming you follow the plan :-).  It is intended to be used by the athlete to guide them to train safely and effectively in order to race strong and have fun.   It is not designed to specifically reflect an athlete's life schedule or goals as individualized plans do. Learn more about the team here.

Athletes interested in working more closely with a coach to manage their development should consider the 1:1 option.  1:1 is more expensive (prices below) as the athlete/coach work very closely and the training is specified exactly to the athletes pace, heart rate zones, bike power etc.  Liz works with only a small group of 1:1 athletes each year.  If interested in more information, please contact Liz.  Learn more about Coach Liz here.

What is the cost?
Individual Triathlon Coaching - $225 / month
​Individual Single Sport Coahing - $100 /month

Team - $50/month

What does it include?
  • Intake and evaluation session to establish strengths, weaknesses, season goals, life goals and to discuss athletic history including prior athletic  involvement, injuries, etc.
  • Ongoing communication; daily evaluation of athlete data (heart race, pacing, power, etc), weekly check-ins and additional communication as needed.
  • Training plan with specific goals for each workout as they relate to individual season goals
  • Free team membership and training sessions
  • Premium Training Peaks Account
